Series Parallel Battery Calculator
Series-Parallel Battery Calculation Explanation
The total battery voltage and capacity depend on how the batteries are connected in series and parallel:
- Total Voltage (V): The total voltage is the voltage of a single battery multiplied by the number of batteries connected in series.
- Total Amp-Hours (AH): The total Amp-Hours is the Amp-Hours of a single battery multiplied by the number of batteries connected in parallel.
- Batteries in Series: Connecting batteries in series increases the total voltage while keeping the Amp-Hours the same as a single battery.
- Batteries in Parallel: Connecting batteries in parallel increases the total Amp-Hours while keeping the voltage the same as a single battery.
What is Series Connection?
When batteries are connected in series, the positive terminal of one battery is connected to the negative terminal of the next battery. The voltage adds up, but the Amp-Hours remain the same.
What is Parallel Connection?
When batteries are connected in parallel, all the positive terminals are connected together, and all the negative terminals are connected together. The Amp-Hours add up, but the voltage remains the same as a single battery.
